“Fragile”
Original mixed-media artwork by Marie-Louise Bahnson
Built from painted marks, torn fragments and recycled materials, Fragile explores the vulnerability we all carry. Bold colour sits alongside delicate edges and interrupted surfaces, inviting us to consider what holds us together—and how easily that balance can shift.
Created during Friday Play Day, the artist’s weekly practice of experimentation, this work uses only found or recycled materials and supplies already in the studio. Working with what is at hand encourages spontaneous choices, giving overlooked fragments a new place and purpose.
Presented on a white backing board within a floating oak frame, the raised artwork reveals its uneven edges and layered construction. Its fragility remains visible, held within the frame.
