“Wild Raspberries”
Original mixed-media artwork by Marie-Louise Bahnson
Bright green, soft pink and a burst of red-orange bring a sense of tangled growth to Wild Raspberries. Loose black lines travel across the layered surface, suggesting stems, brambles and the small discoveries hidden among leaves.
A dark vertical fragment interrupts the colour, while a touch of gold catches the light. Torn edges and expressive marks give this small abstract work an untamed energy.
Created during Friday Play Day, the artist’s weekly experimental practice, this piece uses found and recycled materials alongside supplies already in the studio. Working with what is at hand encourages spontaneous choices, allowing colour, texture and unexpected combinations to guide the work.
The artwork is raised above a white backing board within a floating oak frame, allowing its textured surface and handmade edges to remain visible.
